About
Passion is one thing, but skill is another
Wilmar Schütz is a unique Melbourne-based studio that undertakes commissions to paint historic buildings. We operate across Australia and internationally and warmly welcome your enquiry.
Chris Wilmar is the founder of Wilmar Schütz (founded in 2012). He is a direct descendent of the Schütz family, three generations of prolific Dutch seascape artists from Middleburg, Netherlands.
Chris’s formal training as an architect is combined with his passion for historic buildings and specialist watercolour skills to produce unique architectural watercolour portraits. His parents’ European upbringing in rural New Zealand and Australia and their love for art and antiques are his strongest influences.
When he is not painting, he volunteers his time to the National Trust, where he is a life member. Chris is also a member of the Australian Institute of Architects and donates his wide experience with the AIA Mentorloop programme for graduates of architecture.
